July Announcements
/Communion: July 16, 30
Restore Network Supply Drive: The Restore Network will provide school supplies for nearly 400 students at their annual Back to School Bash. The Bridge will be collecting 4-packs of black Expo markers for the party. We need to collect 176 sets! Please bring your donation and place it in the basket in the foyer between now and July 15.
Coffee Talk: Have you ever wished you could develop more meaningful friendships and move past the small talk? This women's group is for you! Inspired by IF:Table Questions, we meet once a month on Saturday mornings to discuss questions centered around a specific theme which grow progressively deeper. Bring your own drink and snack for this casual get together in the Adult Education Room at The Bridge on 7/22. You can register for this event in the Church Center app or HERE.
Intro to The Bridge Lunch: Whether you are brand new or have been attending for a while, if you would like to learn more about The Bridge, this meeting on Sunday, July 23 is for you. Immediately following the worship service, Pastor Jon will share more about our mission, vision, and core values as well as ways to connect in community and plug in to serve. Lunch will be provided. Childcare will not be available, but you are welcome to bring your children along. Reservations are required, and the meeting is limited to 15 adults. Sign up on the Church Center app or HERE.
School Supply Packing Party: Join us for lunch, community, and service as we pack school supplies for our Back to School Bash at Oakwood Estates, immediately following worship on August 6. Lunch is provided. All ages welcome! Register on Church Center or HERE.
Back to School Bash at Oakwood Estates: In conjunction with Be A Bridge we will be holding a school supply giveaway for the students who live in Oakwood Estates. We will be grilling and serving hot dogs, playing games, and distributing school supplies at the Oakwood Estates recreation center on Monday, August 7 from 5:30-7:00 pm. We are looking for local businesses or groups to sponsor school supplies, as well as people who can help at the event. For more info on sponsorship, talk to Natalie Runyon. Register to help on Church Center or HERE.
Promotion Sunday: Also known as Sundae Sunday, this is the Sunday where our Bridge Kids level up to their next grade/class. We will recognize any kids who earned a Shiver’s gift card through the Summer Challenge, as well as those moving up to Middle School. At the end of class, all kids will have the opportunity to make an ice cream sundae in the Fellowship Hall.
Bridge Family Picnic: It’s time for a family dinner! Meet us at Roxana Park on Sunday, August 20 at 4 pm for a BBQ picnic in the park. Bring your lawn chair, and enjoy fellowship with your Bridge Family. The meal is provided, and lawn games will be set up for you to enjoy. For those who want to cool off, we’ve rented the Roxana Pool from 5-7. Register to attend HERE.
Cookbook Sponsorship: Want to be a part of this amazing opportunity but cooking isn't your jam? Want to contribute but lack recipes without directions like "place it in the microwave for 30 seconds"? Why not submit an advertisement for your business or become a sponsor today? Your contribution will help cover the printing costs so that all proceeds of cookbook sales can go directly to our mission partners.

Church Directory: Did you know we have a Church Directory?? You can find it in the Church Center app. Download the app, select your church, and once there, check out the Directory. Is your info there? If not, see Natalie Runyon. Our goal is to have everyone in the church family added to the Directory by the end of the summer. We appreciate your help!
July Memory Verse: Every month in Bridge Kids we work with the students to help them memorize scripture. You can help your kids at home by posting the verse and practicing it together. Our July verses are Galatians 3:28-29. The verses are scaled based on age. You can find a song to help you learn verse one HERE.
Family Devotional for Bridge Kids: Did you know our Bridge Kids curriculum has a corresponding devotional that families can use at home? Beginning in July, kids will be learning from the New Testament for the next year and a half. The schedule is throughout the education wing at the church. Check out the devotional HERE.
Baptism: We love to celebrate baptisms at The Bridge and share in the joy of new life in Christ. If you'd like to take this step in your faith journey, see Pastor Steven or Pastor Jon.
Riverbend Axe Throwing: We will be taking our high school youth to Riverbend Axe Throwing in Eastgate Plaza on Friday, August 4, from 5:15 to 6:30 pm. All high school youth are invited to attend, including those who have graduated this year and those who will be attending high school for the first time in the fall; friends are encouraged to join as well! If you have any questions contact Mike Solomon at 618-401-4624. Register and find all the details on the Church Center app or https://thebridgealton.churchcenter.com/registrations/events/1825675
As a church that is for our city, we want to encourage those who call The Bridge their home to check out and support local events and live missionally in our community.
